Dear Church Family,Beard Selfie

It has been a busy year already at St. Helena Baptist Church.  We have seen loved ones go home to be with the Lord and others go home to be with family.  Thanks be to God that we have also had others join our church.  Our calendar has also stayed so full nobody could possibly participate in every one of our church’s activities, and our fellowship hall has proved very useful during these times.

I hope that you were able to attend the 50s party that we had in January.  If so, you know how much fun we had.  I encourage you to attend our 60s party on April 28 and to bring friends with you.  Also, our Taste and See Sunday in the fellowship hall went wonderfully.  I want to thank our musicians, song leaders and youth for being so flexible, you did a great job.

In the month of March we are beginning our Annie Armstrong fundraiser.  This is the offering taken at all Southern Baptist Churches to support North American missions.  100% of the money is given to missionaries and works that plant new churches, reach out into unchurched areas and help the hurting throughout the United States and Canada.  As an American pastor that planted a church in Canada, I know how important this offering is to spread the Kingdom of God.  Please pray about how much God guides you to help.

On the 26th of March we are honoring military, fire, police and emt workers during a special service and with a lunch for all to show our gratefulness for their work in our community.  If you know anyone actively serving in any of these areas, please invite them for this special Sunday service.  We also have our annual Oyster Roast on March 17 at 6:00 for our church and community and a bowling and dinner night on March 31.  Everyone is welcome to attend these fellowship and outreach events we are sponsoring.

If you would like to help with any of the above events, please pass a note to the pastor on Sunday or call the church office.  Thank you all for the love and support you have shown my family and each other over this first year of my ministry at St. Helena.  May God continue to bless our church and each of us.
