Sharing God’s Word

Did you know?

In this fitness crazed world that the global fitness and health club industry generates more than 80 billion U.S. dollars in revenue per year. And the global nutrition and supplements market stood at approximately $104 billion globally.

Did you also know: The bible talks about physical fitness?

1 Timothy 4:8 “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”

Matthew 10:28 “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Taking care of our bodies is important……..taking care of our soul is MORE important.

Did you know? Paul was unskilled in speech

2 Corinthians 11:6 I may indeed be untrained as a speaker, but I do have knowledge. We have made this perfectly clear to you in every way.

Did you also know? Moses was not an eloquent speaker?

Exodus 4:10 Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” 11 The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?

For two people that did not have the “human ability” to make great speeches, God, through the Holy Spirit, used both of them in a mighty way to serve Him while speaking to others.

So how does that affect us today? We can never use the excuse that we do not have the ability to go out and witness for the Lord.

Luke 21:13-15And so you will bear testimony to me. 14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. 15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

Did you know? Everyone spoke the same language until the incident at the Tower of Babel

Genesis 11:1-8-9So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

Christianity is by far the world’s largest religion, with an estimated 2.2 billion Christians throughout the world. While we don’t all speak the same language….everyone still calls on the name Jesus Christ

Philippians 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Did you know? During Paul’s voyage to Rome, the ship he was on encountered bad weather for 14 days

Acts 27:27On the fourteenth night we were still being driven across the Adriatic Sea, when about midnight the sailors sensed they were approaching land.

Acts 27:33 -34 Just before dawn Paul urged them all to eat. “For the last fourteen days,” he said, “you have been in constant suspense and have gone without food—you haven’t eaten anything. 34 Now I urge you to take some food. You need it to survive. Not one of you will lose a single hair from his head.”

Did you also know? Jesus healed a woman that had been bleeding for 12 years.

Luke 8:43-44 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.

What do these two stories have in common? It represents that we all have struggles in our lives, it also shows only God can save us through Jesus Christ.

1 John 5:6 This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

Did you know? Jesus stayed up all night praying before choosing His 12 disciples.

Luke 6:12-13 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. 13 When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles: 14 Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, 15 Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot, 16 Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Did you know? In the Bible there is a man remembered for having 6 fingers and 6 toes in one of the wars against the Philistines.

2 Samuel 21:20 In still another battle, which took place at Gath, there was a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot—twenty-four in all. He also was descended from Rapha.

Did you ALSO know? A certain women is not remembered for how she looked but what she did for Jesus.

Mathew 26:12-13 When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. 13 Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”

Hmm??? Does it make you wonder if people will remember us for our looks or for our deeds?

Did you know? That a strong majority (74 percent) of U.S. adults say they believe in God, but that’s down from the 82 percent who expressed such a belief in earlier years. Also….

  • 57 percent believe in the Virgin birth, down from 60 percent
  • 68 percent believe that Jesus is God or the Son of God, down from 72 percent.
  • 65 percent believes in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, down from 70 percent;
  • 58 percent believe in the devil and hell, down from 62 percent;
  • The same poll also found that belief in Darwin’s theory of evolution increased to 47 percent, up from 42 percent

How can anyone who believes in the one and only God, not believe in His Son and every word He speaks?

Proverbs 30:4-6 Who has gone up to heaven and come down?  Whose hands have gathered up the wind? Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak?  Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is the name of his son? Surely you know! 5 “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. 6 Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

What am I thankful for? That even though I am a sinner, not deserving of His love…….God chose me

John 15:15-16 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
